EPDM Commercial Roofing
EPDM is one of the most sustainable and durable materials currently used in the commercial roofing industry. EPDM (Ethyline Propolyne Diene Terpolymer) is a single-ply rubber roofing membrane that is highly resistant to a high degree of oxidation, ultraviolet, weathering, and abrasion damage. With its tolerance to a wide variety of weather conditions, EPDM is one of the most sustainable and long lasting commercial roofing products used today.
The ballasted EPDM systems provide the most cost-effective application due to the ease and speed of installation. These systems are primarily used for large new commercial building, but can also be used on roof replacement projects on smaller residential flat roof situations.
The mechanically attached systems are a lightweight solution for building of all sizes in which the roof membrane is fastened to the structure’s decking using mechanical anchors or screws.
In an application where we can’t use screws of fasteners, we will fully adhere the roof membrane directly to the insulation board or other roofing substrate.
Because of recent advances in technology and adhesives, the fully adhered system is rapidly becoming a leading choice in second generation applications.
While the EPDM material is maybe the most storm resistant product, we still recommend a detailed inspection after a hail storm that produces golf ball sized hail or bigger. ResCom has professionally trained inspectors to assist you with this Free roof evaluation.
